Just a Girl in Love is the Season Two opening theme song sung by Rebecca Bunch. The shows latest saga sell reflects the different direction of the show in which Rebecca is no longer in denial about her reasons for moving to West Covina, California. She embraces being in love while also refusing responsibility for any emotional collateral damage she caused while pursuing Josh Chan. The songs first appearance was in the Season Two episode "Where is Josh's Friend?".
Song and lyricsEdit
It's revealed within the narrative of the show that the lyrics of the song were inspired by an incident in Rebecca's past. After a married Harvard professor named Robert broke up with her, Rebecca accidentally set his house on fire and was brought up on three counts of arson. When Rebecca's mother Naomi pleaded with the judge for leniency she said "She's just a girl in love. She can't be held responsible for her actions". Rebecca's response to having court mandated psychiatric help was to say "I have no underlying issues to address".
