Even Mrs. Hernandez bagged. What's she doing on a Friday night?
— Rebecca Bunch, "I Hope Josh Comes to my Party!"
Mrs. Hernandez is the communications director at Whitefeather & Associates. In stark contrast to her position at the law firm she doesn't actually speak much. She is the only other person besides her co-worker Paula Proctor in whom Rebecca Bunch confides in abour her plans to win Josh Chan's heart. Mrs. Hernandez is known for her firm handshake and is also an avid Parkour practitioner. Her first appearance was in the Season One episode "Josh Just Happens to Live Here!". She is portrayed by actress Gina Gallego.
Mrs.Hernandez was concerned when her friend and co-worker Paula Proctor became obsessed with figuring out with the law firm's new hire Rebecca Bunch reasons for moving to West Covina. Mrs. Hernandez was pleased when they became great friends and was even let in on the secret that Rebecca was in town to chase after her ex-boyfriend Josh Chan. Along with continuing her nightly parkour free running excercises, Mrs. Hernandez also had rugby friends she hung out with. She still maintained a strong friendship with Paula and consoled her when it looked as if Rebecca had found a new BFF in Josh's girlfriend Valencia Perez. Mrs. Hernandez was also there to praise Paula when she decided to not have a co-worker who was an illegal immigrant deported. She would also later chastise Paula when her friend decided to call in sick and take a day off house sitting Rebecca's apartment. Mrs. Hernandez also helped execute an elaborate plan Paula orchestrated to get Rebecca back in Josh's good graces.
In October of 2015, the staff of Whitefeather & Associates including communications director Mrs. Hernandez welcomed their latest hire Rebecca Bunch. Before her arrival, Mrs. Hernandez co-worker and friend Paula Proctor was suspicious of the newest attorney. She questioned why someone with so over qualified would choose to work at this firm but Mrs.Hernandez could only shrug. When thier boss Darryl Whitefeather introduced them Rebecca Bunch Mrs.Hernandez impressed her with a firm handshake. Paula revealed Mrs. Hernandez learned that from a business seminar she attended once. Afterwards, Mrs. Hernandez failed to convince Paula from snooping in Rebecca's office and watched disapprovingly as her friend hacked into the new associates computer ("Josh Just Happens to Live Here!").
Much to Mrs. Hernandez surprise, Paula and Rebecca quickly became best friends seemingly overnight. They had formed such a strong bond that Mrs. Hernandez comforted Paula when it seemed as if Rebecca had found new BFF in Valencia ("Josh's Girlfriend is Really Cool!"). Sometime later, Mrs. Hernandez was invited to Rebecca's housewarming party but decided not to attend and went on a night time parkour run instead ("I Hope Josh Comes to My Party!"). Mrs. Hernandez acted as Paula's conscience when her co-worker discovered an obnoxious awyer at the firm named Tim was in the U.S. illegally. She reminded Paula that he had a family that would be torn apart if he were deported. When Paula decided to keep Tim's secret safe, Mrs.Hernandez told her she was a good person (♫ I'm a Good Person (silent reprise) ♫)("Josh and I Are Good People!").
Months later, Mrs. Hernandez helped Paula get Rebecca back in Josh's good graces after an incident involving a rock. She assisted in an elaborate scheme Paula set up to get Rebecca on a date with Josh at Jalapeño Jack's. When this plan backfired, the trio had another idea to get Josh and Rebecca alone time which involved him suing his landlord ("Josh and I Work on a Case!"). Once the latest plan was brought to fruition, Mrs. Hernandez helped Paula buy back a couch Rebecca sold. She was there when the furniture was put back in Rebecca's apartment and tried to get Paula to go to work with her. She was annoyed when Paula refused as her friend opted instead to take the day off and have a mini-vacation in Rebecca's apartment ("Josh Has No Idea Where I Am!").
